From Conflict To Connection for Professionals
Jan 12 - Feb 9 & Feb 23, 6 - 8:00 p.m.
This CEU qualified course is an exploration of Compassionate Communication (Nonviolent Communication/NVC) as a way to find connection and understanding when conflict arises. With just a few tools participants learn to listen for what’s true in themselves and to listen and guess what might be true for others. From this place of greater understanding it is much easier to find solutions that work for everyone.
Dates: Four Thursdays starting January 12 and ending February 9, 6-8 p.m. A followup class will be held on February 23.
Nonviolent Communication has been endorsed by the Sanctuary Model© as an effective means of engaging in trauma informed care.
Participants will:
- Learn the neuroscience behind conflict;
- Examine how we learn to use judgments and blame as a strategy to get needs met;
- Learn about and practice NVC skills, and apply them to real life situations.
